Special Enrollment Period

A Special Enrollment Period will be held from October 10, 2011 through October 28, 2011, for all members. You may only change your health carrier. New health plan elections will be effective December 1, 2011. Those wishing to change to a different health plan must complete, sign and return the Special Enrollment Form to their agency Group Insurance Representative (GIR) or Benefits Office no later than October 28, 2011.

Please note, you cannot add or drop dependents, opt in or out of health insurance coverage or add or drop dental coverage during this Special Enrollment Period. Active State employees cannot enroll in MCAP, revoke or change their MCAP election (Note: Retirees are not eligible for MCAP).

If you choose to change your health carrier, you will be required to meet any and all deductibles under the new health plan (prescription and medical) regardless of whether the deductibles had already been met under the previous health plan.
