Office of Communication and Information

The Illinois Office of Communication and Information (IOCI) is a multimedia production team that offers services to State government communications operations to ensure transparent, effective, and accurate government communications. 

The Bureau provides media services to Constitutional officers, State elected officials, State agencies, boards, and commissions. IOCI provides graphic design that includes designing brochures, posters, graphics for webpages and social media. IOCI video production includes covering news conference sand producing TV commercials, public service announcements (PSAs), and training videos. IOCI’s news monitoring and distribution services include compiling a weekday news summary of articles about State of Illinois agencies and programs. IOCI, upon request, can distribute news releases via email and posting to the State’s website.

IOCI services are provided upon request of the agency seeking services.

Graphic Design

IOCI graphic designers work closely with State agency communications professionals using copy provided to the designer to develop visually appealing materials to convey the agency’s message to the people of Illinois. The graphic designers use their creative talents to create infographics, logos, brochures, posters, maps, backdrops, magazines, calendars, newsletters, ads, banners, displays, billboards, annual reports, and more.

Editorial Services

State elected officials, agencies, boards, and commissions can use IOCI’s press release service to distribute news to any medium or geographic area. Additionally, Editorial Services offers media monitoring alerts for your agency.

Photography

IOCI offers professional photography services to State government agencies, boards, and commissions. This includes official portrait (headshot) sessions and still photography services for events. IOCI provides digital still images.

Video Production and Satellite Services

The IOCI video production team produces video news, public affairs, educational, and public service programs both on site as well as in the studio located in Springfield.

Video from news conferences can be transmitted by satellite uplink and is posted online for use by media outlets.
