Long-Term Care Coverage Notification

MetLife has informed CMS that they have decided to discontinue the sale of Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance products (includes Employer Group and Individual - including Multi-Life).

Effective July 1, 2011, LTC will no longer be offered. Individuals who are currently enrolled in the LTC program will continue to have coverage as long as premiums continue to be paid. MetLife's LTC coverage is guaranteed renewable. This means that as long as premiums are paid on time, coverage cannot be cancelled, although premiums for coverage can be raised on a class basis.

Information/enrollment kits may be obtained by calling MetLife until May 31, 2011. New enrollments must be submitted to MetLife by June 29, 2011.

The FAQs below may help answer any questions you may have. You may also contact MetLife directly at (800) 438-6388 to speak with a Customer Service Consultant.

Long-Term Care Coverage FAQs

Can I still make coverage changes?

Yes. You can continue to make coverage changes per the terms and provisions of your certificate of insurance. This includes inflation offers, coverage increases and coverage decreases.

I currently pay my premiums through payroll deduction. Will that continue?
