2026 In-Person Events: Fall Prevention

Be Well Illinois and Aetna® are excited to offer new fall prevention programs exclusive to TRAIL members. These no cost classes, are designed to increase your activity, build strength and improve balance to reduce your risk of falls.

Our partner, Illinois Pathways to Health, offers evidence-based programs designed to promote self-management of chronic health conditions (such as diabetes and chronic pain), prevent falls, and foster individual well-being.

Fit and Strong – Cook County

Join us for Fit & Strong! Discover a fun and engaging way to manage arthritis while building strength, improving flexibility, and enjoying aerobic walking. This supportive group program combines effective health education with enjoyable activities, empowering you to take charge of your osteoarthritis and boost your wellness. 

This class meets for 90 minutes three times weekly for 8 weeks. 

Class size is limited to 24 participants. 

Dates: January 6, 2026 through February 24th, 2026  (No Class Tuesday 2/17/2026) – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Time: 1:00pm – 2:30pm CT

A Matter of Balance – Fairview Heights, St. Clair County

An award-winning program designed for older adults to manage falls and increase activity levels. Two trained coaches guide participants through learning and activities that emphasize strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants show improved balance, flexibility and strength while viewing falls as controllable.

This class meets for 2 hours weekly for 8 weeks.

Class size is limited to 12.

Dates: January 15, 2026 through March 5, 2026 - Tuesdays  and Thursdays
