2025 In-Person Events: Fall Prevention
Be Well Illinois and Aetna® are excited to offer new fall prevention programs exclusive to TRAIL members. These no cost classes, are designed to increase your activity, build strength and improve balance to reduce your risk of falls.
Our partner, Illinois Pathways to Health, offers evidence-based programs designed to promote self-management of chronic health conditions (such as diabetes and chronic pain), prevent falls, and foster individual well-being.
A Matter of Balance – Oak Lawn, Cook County
An award-winning program designed for older adults to manage falls and increase activity levels. Two trained coaches guide participants through learning and activities that emphasize strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants show improved balance, flexibility and strength while viewing falls as controllable.
This class meets for 2 hours weekly for 8 weeks.
Class size is limited to 15.
Dates: January 29, 2025 through March 19, 2025 - Wednesdays only

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention – Arlington Heights, Cook County
Enhance your balance, relieve pain, and boost overall health with this engaging program. Our sessions include warm-up and cool-down exercises, movement practice, breathing techniques, and principles to improve both physical and mental balance.
This class meets for 1 hour 2 times per week for 8 weeks.
Class size is limited to 20
Dates: February 3, 2025 through March 31, 2025 – Mondays & Wednesday only. No class held on February 17 in observance of President's Day.

This class meets for 1 hour twice weekly for 10 weeks.
