Subject: Amtrak Routes
Amtrak offers discounted rates Monday through Friday between various cities to State of Illinois employees traveling on official State business. The discounted rates are not available Saturday and Sunday, employees must use the most economical rate available those days.
Discounted rates are not available from the quick track machines located at various stations throughout the State and reservations may not be secured for discounted State travel on Amtrak’s website. Reservations for discounted State travel on Amtrak may be made by calling, General Reservations (800) USA-RAIL, specifically requesting the “State of Illinois Official Government Travel Fare” and mention the "ZOGI" Fare Plan to the agents when you call or book in-person with a station agent.
