Travel Update 07-08

Travel Update #06-03 mandated that when seeking overnight accommodations, conference and meeting space in downtown Springfield and in the city of Collinsville, the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center and the Holiday Inn Collinsville were to be utilized only in the event the “state” rate is unavailable at the other preferred hotels in each area. Employees that utilized these hotels were required to receive written permission from the Governor’s Travel Control Board in order to claim reimbursement.

Effective March 1, 2007, this policy is no longer in effect. For the remainder of Fiscal Year 2007, the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center will be offering state agencies and employees the rate of $70.00 and the Holiday Inn Collinsville will be offering the state rate of $60.00. Employees are reminded that travel must always be by the most economical means and hotels listed in the Fiscal Year 2007 Preferred Hotel Listing must always be contacted first when seeking overnight accommodations. These two properties are considered Preferred Hotels.
