Section 3000.400 (b) of the Travel Rules states that the maximum lodging rates for Cook County, Illinois and the District of Columbia shall be in accordance with the rate established by the Federal Government, General Services Administration.
Effective October 1, 2004, the Federal rate for the District of Columbia was increased to $153.00 (from $150.00) and the Federal rate for Cook County, Illinois was decreased to $149.00 (from $155.00). These rates do not include taxes of any kind. This change does not affect the rate of $130.00 that has been negotiated with the Preferred Hotels within the City of Chicago. Please remind employees that they are required to secure lodging at hotels listed on the state’s Preferred Hotel Listing when possible.
As the appointed Travel Coordinator for your agency, it is your responsibility to disseminate this information to all appropriate personnel within your agency. If you have any questions, please contact Kelley Shaw at (217) 782-4705.
