CIP Benefit Choice Period FY2013
The Benefit Choice Period will be May 1 through June 15, 2012, for all College Insurance Program (CIP) benefit recipients. The FY2013 Benefit Choice Options booklet contains the latest information regarding the Benefit Choice Period options, as well as other benefit information. Elections will be effective July 1, 2012.
During the annual Benefit Choice Period, benefit recipients are allowed to make changes to their group insurance coverage, such as add or drop dependent coverage. Benefit recipients should make all Benefit Choice changes on the CIP Benefit Choice Election Form. Only members wishing to make a change to their coverage should complete the form. The CIP Election Form must be submitted to SURS by June 15, 2012.
The retirement system group insurance representative (GIR) will process the changes based upon the information indicated on the form.
- Change health plans. Members interested in a certain health plan may view their provider directory on the plan's website.
- Add dependent coverage if never previously enrolled.
- Drop dependent coverage.

All Benefit Choice changes should be made on the CIP Election Forms. Benefit Recipients should not complete a form if no changes are being made. The group insurance representatives (GIR) at SURS can answer your benefit questions. Completed forms must be given to SURS for processing.
