Graphic Design
IOCI graphic designers work closely with State agency communications professionals using copy provided to the designer to develop visually appealing materials to convey the agency’s message to the people of Illinois
The graphic designers use their creative talents with images and formatting to create infographics, logos, brochures, posters, maps, backdrops, magazines, calendars, newsletters, ads, banners, displays, billboards, annual reports, and more.
Requesting Services
IOCI requires that all requests for services be made through its official request form. You must have an @illinois.gov email address to be able to access the request form. You may be asked to login with your State network ID and password. If you work for a State and do not have an @illinois.gov email address, please contact CMS.Graphics@illinois.gov.
1. The information that is solicited in the form that is required follows.
a. Project Title
b. Project Description (final deliverable, document size, special instructions)
c. Design Type requested.
d. Whether printing services are needed and quantity to be printed.
e. Number of Colors.
f. Date Needed (Deadline).
g. Supporting documents (Finalized copy, agency digital images, etc.).
h. Agency Name
i. Contact information for person who can answer questions about the project.
2. Requests that are missing required information and/or supporting documents will not be accepted.
3. A graphic designer will be assigned to the project after the request form is completed. The project will not be assigned if the form is missing required information or supporting documents.
Project Timelines
The following timeframes are estimates based on having final approved text and other design elements. During periods of high demand production time may be extended. Please be advised that each change requested will push back the completion time.
Ad – 5 business days
Booklet – 10 business days (80 pages)
Cover – 5 days (three options)
Display/Banner – 5 days (design only)
Flyer – 5 days
Folder – 5 days
Logo – 5 days (three options)
Newsletter – 10 days (design only)
Postcard/Invitation/Announcement – 5 days
Poster/Sign – 5 days
Stationary/Letterhead – 5 days
Web Content – 5 days
Printing Services
IOCI provides limited printing services to agencies utilizing IOCI Graphic Design services. Printing needs that IOCI is unable to fulfill will need to go through the Department of Human Services print shop, or a private print shop.
Translation Services
It is the responsibility of the requesting agency to provide the final copy in English and any other language that will be used in the requested design. The State of Illinois has a master contract for translation services. Please work with your agency’s fiscal department for guidance on contracting for translation services.
